K-12 EDUCATION
The top-ranked kindergarten program in the state in back-to-back years, a variety of career/technical programs, and a longstanding “A” grade from the Mississippi Department of Education headline K-12 education in Kosciusko and Attala County. Upon completion of high school, students are able to pursue a multitude of opportunities at multiple institutions through the Sumners Grant, engage in their desired course of study at one of twelve colleges/universities within 70 miles of Kosciusko/Attala County, or plug into the programs at Holmes Community College – The Attala Center.

Kosciusko School District (KSD)
Kosciusko School District (KSD) has long been graded an “A” by the Mississippi Department of Education. Across standardized tests in the 2013-14 academic year, KSD ranked 4th overall in the state.
CAREER TECHNICAL CENTER
Kosciusko-Attala Career Tech Center boasts a variety of programs aimed towards both broadening and supplementing students’ curriculums with a career-oriented component. Among the courses offered: health sciences, welding, agriculture, automotive service, construction technology, digital media, and teacher academy.
THE ARTS
Thriving arts programs with offerings in choir, theater, visual arts, and music, highlighted by the Kosciusko High School Big Red Band, winners of the 2016-17 Mississippi 4A state marching band championship.
ACHIEVEMENT
#1 ranking for Kosciusko Lower Elementary School’s students on Mississippi’s statewide assessment of learning in kindergarten.
PRE-K
The Barksdale Reading Institute, in a collaboration with the Kosciusko Foundation for Excellence in Education (KFEE), spearheaded the establishment of a Pre-K program at Kosciusko Lower Elementary School. This program has been supplemented by the Barksdale Institute with a series of Parent Academy workshops aimed towards parents with children entering kindergarten.
